Dubai Now Accepts Cryptocurrency for Government Service Payments Through Crypto.com

In a bold move toward digital transformation, the Dubai Department of Finance has signed an agreement with Crypto.com, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, to allow the payment of government service fees using cryptocurrency.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed during the Dubai FinTech Summit 2025, with senior government officials in attendance.
Once implemented, both individuals and businesses will be able to use Crypto.com’s digital wallet to pay for various government services. All crypto transactions will be seamlessly converted into Emirati dirhams (AED) and securely transferred to the Department of Finance.
This innovative payment solution aligns with the Dubai Cashless Strategy, which is designed to enhance economic efficiency and further solidify Dubai’s role as a global leader in financial innovation, blockchain adoption, and digital governance.
“This is a significant step toward a cashless, future-ready government that offers secure and inclusive financial services,” stated Dubai officials.
The initiative highlights Dubai’s ongoing commitment to embracing fintech solutions and creating a robust, tech-driven ecosystem for both residents and businesses.
