Dolphins End Losing Streak with 23-15 Win Over Rams

The Miami Dolphins snapped their three-game losing streak on Monday night, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 23-15 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Miami got off to a strong start, scoring the game’s first points just three minutes into the game. Rookie Malik Washington ran for an 18-yard touchdown, marking the first of his NFL career.

In the third quarter, Tyreek Hill caught his second touchdown of the season on a short pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. This ended a seven-game touchdown drought for Hill and extended the Dolphins’ lead to 17-6. Miami held onto that lead, never allowing the Rams to come back.

Miami kicker Jason Sanders added three field goals, securing the win for the Dolphins.

“It’s a testament to the character of this team,” Tagovailoa said after the game. “We’ve come a long way. Despite the losses, the resilience of this team has been impressive. Hopefully, this win can help us build momentum as we push toward the end of the season.”

After making the playoffs last year, Miami’s season took a hit when Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. He missed the next four games, and the Dolphins went 1-3 during that stretch.

Entering Monday night’s game, Miami had lost two straight since Tagovailoa’s return, both by last-second field goals. But despite their 3-6 record, the Dolphins remain in playoff contention. They’re in second place in the AFC East, just 1½ games out of the wild-card spot.

Miami Defense Shines in Victory

The Dolphins’ defense played a key role in the win, shutting out the Matthew Stafford-led Rams from the end zone all night. Miami sacked Stafford four times, forcing him into 293 passing yards on 32-of-46 completions, along with one interception.

Stafford blamed missed opportunities for the loss. “It was negative plays at the wrong times—turnovers, sacks, and inefficient plays on first down,” he said. “That’s where the game was lost.”

Los Angeles rookie kicker Joshua Karty made three field goals in the fourth quarter to keep the Rams within striking distance. But after Karty hit a 22-yard field goal in the final minute to make it a one-score game, the Dolphins recovered an onside kick to seal the victory.

Building Momentum for the Dolphins

Dolphins defensive lineman Calais Campbell summed up the win: “To create a wildfire, all it takes is one spark. We just have to keep believing and keep fighting.”

Next, the Dolphins (3-6) will face the Las Vegas Raiders (2-7), while the Rams (4-5) will travel to New England to play the Patriots (3-7) on Sunday, November 17.
